Birthday Girl

Well Saturday Jayda turned the big 1 YEAR OLD! I can't believe how fast time goes by! But really, if I think about it, even after only a year I can't seem to remember life without her! We had a party in the park today, it definitely wasn't the best weather, but we still had fun.




I made the cake - - - it took most of the day Saturday!

She actually looks happy here - she was a little crabby. She is getting her molars - HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Memorial day

WOW I knew it had been a long time since I had updated on here, but didn't realize how long. Memorial Day weekend was pretty great for us. We got to babysit for Michael, my aunt Anne's baby. We went to Holli and Chris' for a cook out, and then headed up to Niobrara for Sunday and Monday. It was a little chilly Sunday, but Monday the weather warmed up! We did a little fishing as you can see in the picture, Emerson got bored with his fishing pole early... then we headed back to the cabin and did a little tubing before the rain came. It amazes me - - I don't remember the water being so COLD on memorial day when I was younger....well didn't stop me and Emerson from taking a spin behind the boat. I was amazed he lasted, and even went for round two, however he did make sure to tell me, "I don't like go fast again."

Jayda Jumper

Jayda has finally started to enjoy her Johnny Jumper.

SLEDDING - - - YOU FORGET HOW MUCH FUN IT IS!

Today we went sledding out at mom and dad's farm. It was a blast! Emerson had a ton of fun - - - although he didn't see much of it. When he went down the hill he would sit on the sled backwards and put his head down. But everytime he got to the bottom he said "that was a good one"! Carson and Jarrett also had a great time. In fact it as I'm typing this Carson is asking if anyone will go back out with him. When we got in we made homemade mashed potato donuts - - - the best I've ever had, and then some of mom's homemade sausage wontons!!!! WOW I feel really FAT! Oh and now mom is saying you need to takes some of this Oatmeal stuff (it's some kind of oatmeal crockpot thing made with this wacky oatmeal called steal cut - - never would have thought it was oatmeal if I hadn't read it on the package) and some chilli - - - well atleast I know we won't starve tonight. Well have to head for the hills.

WOW AM I BEHIND

So wow, I can't believe how long it has been since I posted on here. I'm sure most of you are like come on....So let's make up for lost time.
A lot has happened since Christmas - - - which I think without going bag to my main page - - -is the last time I updated this!

Ashley:

At the end of March my employees and I and our Cheer Leader Kari decided to do something good for the community...so we woke up really early....I mean early (5:30 am early - 4:00 for me I had to drive) and we went bowling....Now I'm sure you are all wondering what bowling has to do with helping out the community...you see the local radio station was doing a souper bowl...we put together a team of 4 raised some canned food items and they were our entry fee to bowl at 5:30 in the morning! We had fun! Then after that I made breakfast... belgian waffels, sausage, eggs hashbrowns and don't forget coffee!!! What away to end the month! You may know that February 21st was my Birthday - - we desided it was a good excuse to get some friends and family together so we rented a few lanes at C Thomas' lounge and Lanes in humphrey and had some bowling fun, it was great!

The Family:On Valentines Day we didn't have much to do, so at 11 am after talking to my aunt Julie we decided to take a little trip to Kansas City. It was great! We relaxed and got to visit with Aunt Julie, Andy and Kevin, met some of their friends over great, wait AWesome pizza, and played some wi before retiring. On Sunday we decided to check out some of the sites. We went to Crown Plaza and ate at Fritz's - - - this is ultimate cool especially for someone like little Kev who loves trains. You order your food on a telephone and then when it is ready you get your food delivered by a train that runs on an overhead rail, when it comes by your table an arm drops which kicks the food off of the trains carrier and onto your tray which is then lowered to the table with hydraulics! After filling our bellies we went to a toy store and then to the Crayola store... that was very neat. After the shopping we decided to hit Union Station. We checked out the train displays, and then went into Science world (I don't think that's what it is really called). There we got to mess around with different experimental items. The ride home went a little less smooth than the ride out, but still wasn't too bad. We stopped in Omaha to see some of Steve's old co-workers, and then had to grab a burrito at Chipotle. On our way by Tarnov we had to stop and see our newest niece Lily Faye Beltz, Steve's sister Suzanne's daughter.

Emerson:Emerson, what do you say about Emerson, except ORNERY! He keeps me on my toes that's for sure. He is a complete monkey on top of everything all the time. I didn't take a picture of his latest battle scare - - we still really don't know what it was from - - - - let's just say his face caught the corner of something - - - I'm just glad he still has his eye! And after almost a weak the bruise that once stretched from the middle of his left eye to the middle of the same cheak has almost faded away.

Jayda:
Don't let the pictures fool you... She is not crawling. She actually won't even let me put her on her knees anymore she just lays on her stomach and gets really made. She can stand next to stuff if you put her there, but doesn't like that much either - she hasn't figured out how to get back to the floor when she's way up there. Mom was watching her on Tuesday and said she almost pulled herself up...but I still don't know if I believe her. This week Jayda was diagnosed with RSV, bronchitis and a slight ear infection. So we are doing 6 breathing treatments a day and giving her that Yummy pink medicine 2x's a day - - - she hates it!!!! She is starting to act more rambunctions, so I think she is feeling better - - now if those 2 eye teath would just finally break through maybe I could have my sweet, well mannered little girl back.

Steve:
Steve is still working away with Jarosz Construction. I think he is glad to be back. He also got back onto the Humphrey Fire department. I'm jealous I really miss the fire side of things a LOT! Maybe in my next career!


Well I think that about sums it all up....Oh yeah our house is still for sale...if anyone knows someone or wants a house in GI let us know!!! Hopefully my next update will not have to be so length!

Now I sit me down in school
Where praying is against the rule
For this great nation under God
Finds mention of Him very odd.

If Scripture now the class recites, It violates the Bill of Rights.
And anytime my head I bow
Becomes a Federal matter now

Our hair can be purple, orange or green,
That's no offense; it's a freedom scene.
The law is specific, the law is precise.
Prayers spoken aloud are a serious vice.

For praying in a public hall
Might offend someone with no faith at all
In silence alone we must meditate,
God's name is prohibited by the state.

We're allowed to cuss and dress like freaks,
And pierce our noses, tongues and cheeks..
They've outlawed guns, but FIRST the Bible.
To quote the Good Book makes me liable.

We can elect a pregnant Senior Queen,
And the 'unwed daddy,' our Senior King.
It's 'inappropriate' to teach right from wrong,
We're taught that such 'judgments' do not belong.

We can get our condoms and birth controls,
Study witchcraft, vampires and totem poles.
But the Ten Commandments are not allowed,
No word of God must reach this crowd.

It's scary here I must confess,
When chaos reigns the school's a mess.
So, Lord, this silent plea I make:
Should I be shot; My soul please take!
