I think Steve Brainwashed Her

Yes I said Brainwashed - - - -why else would my daughter's fist word be da-da. Last week Jayda decided to start talking...well jibberish anyways, but she is definitely saying da-da-da-da....she even tries to repeat it when you say it too her. If i can ever figure it out I will post the video on here.

Nothing new really

Well I figured I should post an update let everyone know what's going on. Not really a whole lot. We went to the Dr yesterday, Jayda had 5 shots and Emerson had one. He didn't shed a tear or even say owe! Jayda on the other had was a huge DRAMA QUEEN! Then the kids took pictures last night, hopefully we can find some we like and get some christmas cards ordered. They were both really smiley. I think Emerson thought he was a model.

I joined the Humphrey Rescue Department and we had our first meeting last night. That was interesting, not at all what I am used to from GI. I've only been on 2 calls so far....not complaining, it is nice to be at a slow department for a change...and it is nice to get into an ambulance again.

EMERSON IS 3!

Emerson turned the big 3 today. He is very happy he got so many nice things! He really liked the snow pants he got from Grandma Joyce, and he said he liked the puzzles (Diego game) he got from Grandma Tammy! It was so nice being back in Humphrey, this was the first birthday where everyone was able to make it and we could actually have the party on Emerson's birthday. Some of you may be wondering why the cake is Dora, and not the more masculine Diego character, but I was just following Emerson's request. When I asked him what he wanted for his birthday he specifically said a Dora cake! I tried to find a Diego cake pan, but all the library had was Dora, guess it was meant to be, so 1 box cake mix and 6 cups of brightly colored frosting later....Dora the Explorer emerged on our counter. Wow that was a lot of frosting!

Snowy Roads

I had quite the trip to work today. The snow was a flyin' and the roads were slushy - slushy - slushy! But I made it! I was amazed to see that even the semi trucks and pickups that are usually buzzing around you as you slowly make your way down the road, were actually creeping slowly sticking to the right lane like all of the other sane drivers. I saw about 4 or 5 people in the ditch. I felt real bad for one of the guys cuz you could tell he didn't have a cell phone as he was standing OUTSIDE in the blowing snow, trying to act all cool so someone would pick him up. When I told everyone at work they gave me a hard time for not stopping, I said I don't pick up thugs - - they thought I was pretty funny - - I wasn't kidding though he looked like a thug! Anyways I survived the first nasty road trip to Norfolk!

Hanging around

As you can see the kids are settling into the new house. They started their new daycare yesterday and both seem to be doing fine. Steve finally got to buy his pickup that he has been saving up for - he got a 2004 Ford F150 Crew Cab. He is very excited! I started work up in Norfolk yesterday everything is going pretty good. Right now we are just watching the election updates on the boob-tube, and holding our breath to say the least!

Cousins

This weekend Jayda got to hang out with her 'younger' cousin Kaylie. Marty and Angie were back, and so was Joe. The boys all went up north to get their deer stands ready for the upcoming hunting season. Sunday we all went to the Tarnov Fall Festival for spagetti.

Halloween

Jayda's first Halloween was a sucess. She made it out trick-or-treating as a black little kitty. Emerson made a pretty good haul as he anounced his arrival with a very loud "TRICK-OR-TREAT"! He decided to take after mom this year and be a fire fighter. It was a beautiful night. We got the kids dressed after work and hit a few of the neighbors houses before piling into our jam packed car and headed for our new place in Humphrey.

The begining of the End

Well, today started the beginning of the end of our time in GI. Wow who would have ever thought even 3 months ago that we would be packing up and moving out of town, but that's just what we will be doing. Soon Steve will be back to swinging a hammer, and I will be back to my old branch. Amazing how quickly life can change. We are very excited, but also a little sad at the same time. 4 more days left to go. One nice thing is that when we go to family gatherings like Grandpa's 80th b-day party that we attended yesterday we won't have a 2 hour drive home.

Reality Check

We are back in Humphrey tonight! I can't believe less than a week away and we will be living back in Humphrey! I'm a little anxious, I don't know if it is because I'm sooo excited, or because maybe I'm second guessing myself. All I know is this next week of life is going to be strange, and then life after that could be even more strange trying to get used to being back in a small town where everyone you see you KNOW! AHHHHH! Just kidding! It will be nice to be back closer to family, but I think it is really starting to hit me how many friends I will miss seeing all the time. I know I already miss being on the GI Rural Fire Department. Even though I haven't been on many calls since I got back from maternity leave it is just kinda wierd. Well I am way past tired, I'm just waiting for mom and dad and the girls to get back from the Humphrey High-St. Francis game. Tomorrow is Grandpa Dean's 80th birthday party out at the Klub81. I'm sure it will be fun! For now Goodnight.

After a very hard days work (I know Andrea and Polly will back me up on that) we managed to have enough energy to go out and have some fun! We got together with some great friends, who helped us celebrate our move back home.

The Future of this Blog

Be patient with me as I figure out this whole blogging thing, this is new to me and I have found myself lying in bed wide awake clicking away for the past two nights trying to get all of the quirks worked out before sending everyone an e-vite to our site. I have finally decided that you just gotta go with the flow, so I hope to get more up to date photos on here yet this week and then keep updating weekly if not daily. My entries for the next few days may be kind of scattered as there are a lot of fun pictures and thing we've done over the last few months that I want to share with everyone.

Our Plans

For those of you who don't know we will be moving at the end of October back to Humphrey. I have accepted the managers position at the Norfolk Citifinancial branch, and Steve is going to be going back to work at Jarosz Construction. We are very excited, but also nervous. There is a lot to be done - sell the house, find new day care etc. It will be great though being closer to family. We are very excited.
